freunde der feinen abendgestaltung: kommet, höret, trinket und tanzet im novomatic forum!
da wirds ein 3er live set der etwas elektronischeren art geben, very nerdy stuff indeed, extrem super!
klingt so: “we paint colors” und einige feine alte werke werden live geremixed!
an den decks führt durch den abend und alle möglichen musikrichtungen: Kido Soon von 313RADiO.
startet um 10, geht bis lang in die nacht, kostet nix. food for your ears n eyes.

Comfort Fit – Polyshufflez LP

just got some news in my mailbox and definitly like it a lot.
tokyo dawn records, for those who don´t know - a small and fine netlabel with strong roots in the netaudio scene since the earliest days, is back with a fulllength release of their artist “Comfort Fit“, located in germany, mannheim.
“Polyshufflez” holds 72 minutes of high fidelity based on polyrhythmic beat structures and postmodern pop perspectives, using music codes of genres such as Hip-Hop, Dub-Step and Techno merely as comic template.
As i´m just listening through the 22 tunes, i catch traces of dimlite & co. It´s not just another beat tape;
it´s ideas, combinations of themes, rhytmical patterns and kinda (sometimes) ambient touch concludes in a well done piece of music, stringent from the first to the last tone.
Comfort Fit himself about his LP: “Polyshufflez is a groove study which goes far beyond the traditional understanding of rhythm. It is my attempt to make this special rhythmical phenomenon accessible to the public consciousness and to give it a name. The concentration lies on the space between the beats, not on the beats themselves.”
The featurette includes Howard Marks (best known for his worldwide bestseller book ‘Mr Nice’), Blaktroniks, Wallis Bird, Gajah, Anita Tijoux, Naboobia and Caitlin Meissner.
Polyshufflez is going to be released on the 14th of August! listen to the teaser right there:

..zufällig über diese farbenfrohe (?!) video gestolpert, lang ist´s her.
ich weiss nicht, ob mir der tune jemals wirklich gefallen hat, eins weiss ich aber: es war einer von wenigen songs, die hardcore mtv airplay hatten, den ich mindestens 3 mal am tag hörte und irgendwann dann vermutlich auch mochte (obwohl zu der zeit noch gitarren angesagt waren

das wird dick.
exile, der erst kürzlich sein neues album “radio” veröffentlicht hat und u.a. auch für DIESES dicke album verantwortlich ist, kommt während einer europa tour gemeinsam mit dj day nach wien. it goes down @ cafe leopold, hosted von the loud minority & blue flowers, dem allseits beliebten montags hiphop sit & drink in
wem exile nichts sagt und nicht weiss, was eine MPC ist, der sollte sich das nicht entgehen lassen.
die beiden reinterpretieren hiphop classics auf 2 turntables und 2 mpc´s!

es gibt auch noch einige kleine dates nebst den offiziellen tourdates am flyer, die da wären:
DJ Day & Exile in Cool Cologne: am 14ten julai sind die beiden ab 18.30 auf besuch im Groove Attack store
am 15ten julai gibt´s dann von 20.30 - 22.00 ein interview bei radio campus und ab 23.00 einen kleinen bar gig @ stecken.

In response to a call from Hewlett Packard for user-made advertisements, two students at London’s Kingston University pulled off a mesmerizing synchronized printing routine with a stable of HP printers. The tune is rather “…mrmmpff” but a nice idea anyway!

‘Void‘ LP player spins records in midair like musical UFOs..
Inspired by the Vinyl Killer, which is currently the smallest record player in the world, Korean designer Rhea Jeong’s “Void” LP player would have records spinning in midair above it. Here’s the plan, according to Designboom, who Jeong sent the design to:
The record player uses a carrier and dock outfitted with a magnetic and auto-calibrating control system which carries the LP into thin air as it is playing music. A self-running record player shaped in the form of a red sphere, contains a needle, amplifier and speaker, spins around the record, bringing the music to life.
There’s even a control on the player’s base to control how high the record spins. It’s a wild design, for sure, but one that we hope becomes a reality one day.

da gibts zwar kein video und die trackqualität lässt zu wünschen über, aber nichtsdestotrotz eines der besten alben ever und wohl auch einer der besten songs drauf ..
das war eines der ersten alben, die ich auf vinyl bekommen hab, damals von meiner mum bei einer shopping tour in zürich.
monch = god, mehr gibts dazu kaum zu sagen. zu der zeit einfach nur heftig, und heut eigentlich auch noch
